The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund (TNIBF) is a registered charity offering support to people within the UK Nuclear Industry. Our grants programme is designed to support and enhance the UK Nuclear Industry and its surrounding communities:
Financial Hardship
This is aimed at those working, or who have worked in the industry and are experiencing financial difficulty. Types of support covers a wide range of situations including disability adaptations, essential home repairs, mobility equipment, household appliances and other one-off grants tailored to the individual’s needs. Temporary financial support can also be awarded to support applicants whilst they explore longer term help such as debt solutions. Additionally, TNIBF works closely with other charities and relevant organisations so we can signpost where necessary.
Bursary Scheme
This scheme is directed at those who are working or considering a career in the UK Nuclear Industry who are struggling financially to support their chosen route. The scheme supports individuals on programmes of study or training relevant to meeting the future skills demands of the industry.
Community Grants Programme
This scheme provides financial support to organisations working to improve the quality of life and opportunities for those within the nuclear sector and its neighbouring communities. Financial grants from a few hundred pounds up to £50,000 for eligible organisations are available. The Community Grants Programme offers financial awards to:
1. Non-profit nuclear organisations that promote knowledge, understanding, skills, and access to opportunities within the nuclear industry.
2. Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises (VCSE) within a 20-mile radius of a nuclear site, supporting workers and their dependants by providing essential services and opportunities.
3. Schools, colleges, and universities across the UK engaged in projects that benefit the nuclear sector.
If you are aware of anyone in your network, including your local community, who you think this may be of interest to, please share. A printable publicity ‘flyer’ is attached to this email. We also have leaflets that can be posted out upon request.
