Civil Nuclear Police Federation’s Group Insurance Scheme provides significant member benefits to those who contribute at greatly reduced rates. The scheme is available to all Federated members who subscribe to the Federation, senior officers, and all police staff.

From 1 October 2024, the scheme is again being provided by Philip Williams & Co. Insurance Management but with some improvements and a reduction in cost.

The main improvements are:

  • Life cover has been increased from £125,000 to £135,000.

  • Sickness benefits during half pay has increased from 15% of salary to 20% of salary.

  • A new £70 grant is available to officers and staff who may need to attend the Police Treatment Centre.

The current monthly subscription of £35.05 reduced to £32.95 from 1 October 2024.

A further incoming change is how the monthly subscriptions are collected. As of 1 October 2024, all direct debits will be cancelled and the subscriptions will move over automatically onto CNC Payroll - with the first payment being taken at the end of October's pay run (November’s pay) and will show on the CNC payslip.

Please note that current subscribers do not have to do anything as this change will happen automatically

For those of you who are in a free period, you don’t need to do anything. You will remain fully covered and once your free period ends you will see the subscriptions being deducted directly from your pay.

The new scheme booklet is available here.

We are always happy to accept new officers and staff into the scheme and you can register and apply via this link. The first three months subscriptions are free of charge.

Current members who do not wish to remain in the scheme with payroll deduction may withdraw their membership at any time simply by submitting a service request or by coming directly to the CNPF. Before doing so, we would advise you consider alternative cover that meets your needs.
