Nominations for the 2026 CNP Federation Excellence Awards are open, but the deadline is approaching, and we don't want anyone to miss their chance to recognise a deserving colleague.

The winners will be honoured at the Federation's biannual conference in Manchester in December, and with a closing date of 3 August, now is the time to take five minutes to put someone forward.

It really does only take a few minutes. There are two categories to nominate in, and you're welcome to submit nominations for both.

Leadership Award

This award honours the commitment and enthusiasm of a colleague who consistently goes above and beyond in supporting their communities and those they work with. We're looking for:

  • Colleagues whose kindness and compassion encourage those around them

  • Evidence of determination in overcoming a significant challenge

  • Someone who motivates and leads others, regardless of their rank or role

Inspiration Award

Recognising those who quietly make a big impact, the Inspiration Award celebrates colleagues whose contributions deserve a moment in the spotlight — the ones who'd say they were "just doing their bit." We're looking for:

  • Someone whose commitment to excellence is second to none

  • Evidence of a positive impact that reaches beyond their role or rank

  • Colleagues who have achieved something remarkable, whether at work or beyond it

Darren Adams, Chair of CNPF, said: “If someone springs to mind, and I’m sure they will do, please don't put it off. Nominations close on 3 August, and it would be a shame for outstanding work to go unrecognised just because time ran out.

“Plus, if you have already completed stage one of your nomination, don’t forget to add the details we need for the second stage. Again, this only takes a few minutes.”
